Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is seeking applications on an international basis of dynamic and visionary academic leaders to become the Dean, School of Economics and Social Sciences (SESS). This is a leadership position which is strategic in that it controls all the academic, administrative and developmental activities in the school. It is given responsibility to the Dean to promote innovative levels of academic programs, interdisciplinary cooperation, and a research-driven culture to be followed by the faculty. The Dean will have a great opportunity to develop in line with current engagements with the world and make sure that the school is on the lead in teaching social sciences in the country and other countries. Being a senior academic post, the Dean will hold the post of a Professor during his/her three-year term and will come back to the professorial position once he/she completed his term. The chosen one should have strategic planning skills, resource allocation skills and administration skills in ensuring academic excellence. They will work on curricular gaps by coming up with policies that will make academic offering relevant and innovative as well as improving the school visibility within the institutions. It is also an academically and administratively intensive position with the main expectation to lead the faculty recruitment, retention, mentoring and faculty development.

In the context of this role too there is establishment of linkages with the national and international institutions, an increase of exposure to student and staff through high standards of seminars and also their representation by the IBA Karachi in conferences and through allied forums. The Dean is going to have a critical role to play in the academic operations, admission, curricular development and assessment systems that are in accordance to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and IBA standards.
